Privacy Policy
Evalumate for Chrome

Last updated 9 September 2026.

This policy covers the Evalumate Chrome extension. The Evalumate iOS app and account are covered by the Evalumate app privacy policy.

What the extension collects

Your email address and password, at sign-in. These are sent directly to Firebase Authentication, which is Google's authentication service, to sign you in to the Evalumate account you already have. Your password is not stored by the extension and is not written to disk at any point.

Nothing else. In particular the extension does not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports, advertising identifiers, or a record of the pages you visit.

What the extension reads but does not collect

The address of the tab you are viewing. The extension reads it to work out which product you are looking at. It is used in memory, on your device, and is never stored or sent anywhere.

Product details published by the page. The brand name, store name and page title, taken from the metadata the page already publishes about itself. Used to build your search. Never stored or sent anywhere.

The extension does not read the rest of the page, does not read anything you type on it, does not modify it, and makes no network request to the sites you visit.

What is stored, and where

One thing: your Firebase session token, in chrome.storage.session. This is memory-backed browser storage. It is deleted when you close Chrome, when you sign out, and when you remove the extension. It is not synced to any other device and it is not written to disk.

What is sent off your device

Only requests to Google's Firebase services, to sign you in and to read the Evalumate reviews you already have access to:

Your browsing history, the addresses you visit, and the contents of the pages you visit are never sent to Evalumate or to anyone else.

What you can see

The extension shows you only what your Evalumate account already permits: your own posts, posts from accounts you follow, and posts from public accounts. Posts from private accounts you do not follow are not shown. Posts from accounts you have blocked, and from accounts that have blocked you, are not shown in either direction.

Third-party services

Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage), the same backend as the Evalumate iOS app. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

No other third-party service is used. There is no advertising, and no analytics provider.

Sharing

Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with third parties. There is no data broker relationship, and no data is used for advertising or credit assessment.

Retention and deletion

The session token is discarded when you close the browser or sign out, whichever comes first. Removing the extension removes it immediately.

Your reviews and profile live in your Evalumate account, not in the extension. Deleting your account in the iOS app deletes them.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date, and in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
